A Small Show

Share/Save/Bookmark

As you know, I have not been able to be a full time artist lately so I am pleased to say that I have at last gotten out and submitted a few pieces for a small show. I was not successful in terms of sales, however, I am happy to have just gotten back into the game. Onward and upward, I say!!

I have some computer issues, like my scanner is on the fritz and I have no digital camera at the moment so I can not even upload my latest painting, but I will soon rectify both issues so I can share my work once again. Thanks to all of you who continue to read my blog.

Finally!! Back Painting Again!!

Well, at long last, I have paint on canvas again. I will take some pictures as I progress. Thanks so much to all of you who have patiently waited for something new or at least a post to let you know I am still alive and kicking!

It is so difficult to manage my time nowadays. I just do not have the energy I had once and there always seems to be something more urgent than what I want to be doing, but I think it is time to put me first for a while as I feel the stress getting to me again and I do not want to get sick again. The bouts of fibromyalgia are more frequent and I do not want to go back to having it control my life.

Spring has arrived here at last and with it, my new found energy and desire to paint. I hope I do not disappoint after such a hiatus.

Getting Back To Normal

I am finally getting back to a normal pace and will be able to paint once again. I went out and bought a few new supplies just to give me a little incentive! Since I do not currently have a camera, I bought some smaller canvasses that I will be able to scan, and that will be easier to finish!

I have really missed painting, it is amazing how often I think about it. I see things every day that I imagine my self painting and I wish I could capture it right then so I do not forget just how the light was! As soon as I am finished my housework today, I will be hitting the canvas and hopefully will have something to show you for the next post.

Thanks for continuing to read the blog, and for all of you who have made comments, I really appreciate the support. Thankyou for sharing your thoughts.

Holiday Greetings

Well, I hope everone had a good Christmas and is now looking forward to a new year. Mine was very quiet with just my husband and son at home, but we really enjoyed our feast and the time spent together.

I have made a new pact with myself to get painting again no matter what the obstacles before I lose what I have already learned. I am going to buy a good camera as soon as possible too so it keeps me motivated. I have really missed painting, I even dream about it!!

I wish you all the best in the coming new year and thank you all for continuing to read my blog. Take care of yourselves and your loved ones.

What's New?

I apologize for the lack of new content on this blog lately. I have returned to work full time and at the moment there just don’t seem to be enough hours in the day. I am sure it will be different after I get used to the new pace.

Painting has been pushed to the background for now and I have not been able to finish any new artwork to post on The Creaky Easel. It is never far from my mind though, and I have several ideas for new pieces. I have sold a couple pieces and am hoping to get into the local art scene and get an exhibit set up.

Visitors from out of town have had to be entertained; we went out of town for a couple days to ready the other house for winter as it has still not sold; and there have been personal issues with our son consuming valuable time. My husband works long hours and I have spoiled him so he has become accustomed to my making his lunches and preparing the meals and doing all the housework. After 35 years, this is not going to change! As many of you also do, I spend my days off playing ‘catch-up’ with the big jobs and trying to prepare things ahead for the following week to make the days go a little smoother. All of this stuff does not seem to be as easy to cope with as it was when I was younger!! It saps my energy and plays havoc with my fibromyalgia.. I hope you will visit again and I will do my best to keep a more consistent flow.
